Tan Tonic Sunless Academy was created to help artists understand more than just how to spray a tan. We teach the science, technique, artistry, and business behind sunless tanning so you can create consistent results, confidently work with different skin tones and build a profitable sunless business.
Built from over a decade of hands-on experience in the sunless industry, the Academy combines real-world education with the knowledge we’ve gained from working with clients, training artists, and developing professional sunless solutions.

Learn the why?
Your training begins with our comprehensive digital education manual. Before picking up the spray gun, we want you to understand what you're applying, why you're applying it, and how to make informed decisions for each individual client.
You'll learn the foundations of sunless tanning, including DHA and how it interacts with the skin, color theory, undertones, solution percentages, development and rinse times, ingredients, product knowledge, skin preparation, and aftercare.
We also teach you how to conduct a professional client consultation. You'll learn how to ask the right questions, understand the products your client currently uses, identify factors that could affect their results, set realistic expectations, and select an appropriate solution based on the individual—not simply use the same formula on everyone.
And because technique alone doesn't build a successful career, we introduce business practices, client experience, pricing, policies, retention, professionalism, and the fundamentals of building a sustainable sunless business.

HANDS-ON MODEL TRAINING
Knowledge becomes confidence through experience.
After learning the fundamentals, it's time to put them into practice.
Students work hands-on with a minimum of five live models, intentionally selected to provide experience with different skin types, ages, body shapes, tones, and individual tanning needs.
You'll learn proper client positioning, spray-gun control, distance and movement, product application, blending, hands and feet, face and difficult areas, and how to create a smooth, customized result from beginning to end.
Instead of practicing one technique on one body type, our goal is to expose you to the reality of working with real people and real skin.
We work alongside you throughout the process, helping you identify what you're seeing, make adjustments, troubleshoot your application, and develop the confidence to work independently.
